Last weekend, we gladly ventured to the Lancaster Village Market for the First Annual Duck Derby! The morning was warm as we arrived at the market. As you can see, our trade show manager, Lynne Parry, arrived in full gear – ready to catch a duck!
At the starting line, our volunteers gathered with buckets of potentially lucky ducks.
The crowd looked on and cheered excitedly for their ducks to swim faster!
Once the ducks made the turn in the creek, they really started moving! The volunteers waited at the finish line for the first lucky duck to cross. The first prize winner won $350!
Then came the second and third prize winners, winning $150 and $50 for their adopted ducks!
We collected a total of 20 ducks that completed the contest. Apple Rubber was proud to sponsor such a fun event. All proceeds from the First Annual Duck Derby benefitted the Food Bank of WNY. Thanks again to all the sponsors and everyone who came out for the day! We’re already looking forward to next year!
Oh, yeah… We were wondering… is there a prize for catching the largest duck?
