The Rise of In-Person Trade Shows Post-Pandemic

apple rubber trade shows are back

In February of 2020, like most other exhibitors, little did we know that we were packing up our booth for the last time that year. The COVID shutdown prohibited in-person contact with customers and limited interaction with coworkers.

At Apple Rubber, we made the most of the uncertainties created by the shutdown by continuing to build and improve our online resources. Additional capability videos were produced and posted to the Apple Rubber YouTube channel. Providing useful tools for Design Engineers is a priority, so we took the initiative to update and add additional functionality to our O-Ring Gland Calculator Tool.

These resources and updated tools are important. However, they do not compare to the value of face-to-face interaction with prospects and customers. After 14 months, Apple Rubber exhibited at our first trade show, a Design-2-Part Show in Atlanta, GA. We were not sure how soon people would be willing to attend an in-person event like this again.

On the contrary, the past three shows held in Atlanta GA, Grapevine TX and Uncasville CT, have produced a significant amount of excitement from both exhibitors and attendees. There appears to be a pent-up demand for engineers and buyers to get projects moving again. It is always encouraging to see attendees with parts and drawings in hand, looking for design solutions, and providing good RFQ leads.

Let us know how we may be of assistance with your current or future sealing applications. Apple Rubber looks forward to meeting our customers and potential prospects face-to-face at one of the upcoming shows scheduled for the second half of this year.
